QAIS raises $14,012 in first annual Toonie Challenge
The McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) Foundation is proud to announce that the first annual Toonie Challenge raised $14,012 in support of The Best Care for Life Campaign. Launched in collaboration with the Quebec Association of Independent Schools (QAIS), students collected toonies for the MUHC Foundation with a long-term objective of raising 69,000 toonies to circle the entire Glen site if placed end-to-end.
Toonie Challenge Launched Successfully
The goal of the Toonie Challenge is for students in Montreal schools to collect toonies for the MUHC Foundation, to raise awareness of the needs of the hospital, and to engage students and their schools in an active relationship with the MUHC.
All funds raised this year will go towards completing the MUHC's Best Care for Life Campaign, which supports the building of the new Glen hospital facility that will be completed in the fall of 2014.

The company is committing the largest corporate donation in its history – $6 million – to the Joint Corporate Campaign of Montreal’s two academic health centres.
Merck invests $12.5 million in Montréal’s life sciences research sector
Merck Canada announced today that it is reinforcing its commitment to growing Montréal's life sciences basic and translational research sector, by investing $12.5 million to fund research at three prominent university-affiliated and hospital-based research centres. This investment by Merck supports the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC), the CHUM Research Centre (CRCHUM) and the Montréal Heart Institute Research Centre (MHI), and their mission of promoting the development of scientific advancements that will improve healthcare.
