When every second counts

Stephanie was enjoying a pleasant winter walk when, without warning, she slipped on a patch of black ice and fell to the ground, fracturing her skull. In order to survive her injuries, she needs to have very rapid access to top-notch trauma care.

Hello, I’m Dr. Tarek Razek, Chief of Trauma at the McGill University Health Centre.

At the MUHC, our goal is to have a team of experts on call day and night to respond within minutes to the most severe trauma cases. For Stephanie and the hundreds of other victims of accidents or aggression we see every year, this means having a better chance of surviving.
