5th Annual MUMS Swim-a-Thon
The McGill University Master Swimmers (MUMS) held their 5th annual Swim-a-Thon benefitting Cancer Care at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) on Saturday 3 May at McGill’s Memorial Pool. Sixteen swimmers with a wide range of abilities took to the water with a splash in support of this great cause. From cancer survivors to MUHC professionals to Iron Man athletes, every one was there for a great time and a great cause.
With 16 swimmers in the 25m pool, the morning was busy and full of fun and friendly competition. The fastest swim time was 1 hour and 10 minutes, a personal best for the first-time Swim-a-Thon participant but even the “turtle” swimmers were pleased with their times and proud to have completed the challenging swim. This year’s Swim-a-Thon raised over $3,000 for oncology at the MUHC. To date, MUMS has raised well over $16,000 for cancer care at the MUHC and hopes to raise even more in the coming years.
