Donat J. Taddeo

President and CEO

Donat J. Taddeo took up his position as founding President and CEO of the MUHC Foundation in July, 1999 following his term as Executive Vice-Chair of Concordia University's Campaign for a New Millennium, which raised over $77 million for the University. Born in Montreal in 1946, Dr. Taddeo received his Bachelor of Arts from Loyola College in 1967 and a Doctorate in Classics from Stanford University in 1972. In 1986 he earned a Master of Arts in Communications Management from the Annenberg School of Communication of the University of Southern California.

Dr. Taddeo was appointed Dean of Humanities in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Concordia University in 1979 and was responsible for the academic and research development of eleven academic departments. At the conclusion of his mandate in 1985, Dr. Taddeo became a tenured Professor in Concordia’s Department of Communications Studies, where he remained for the following three years.

From 1988 to 1992, Dr. Taddeo was the Quebec Delegate to Italy for the Government of Quebec. He was responsible for the co-ordination and implementation of activities of the Quebec government in Italy in the areas of economic development, commercial exchange, cultural affairs, institutional relations, tourism and immigration.

Shortly after his return to Montreal, the Board of Governors of Concordia University appointed Dr. Taddeo under exceptional circumstances as Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science at Concordia University; a position he held from 1993 to 1997.

Currently, Dr. Taddeo sits on the boards of the MAB/Mackay Rehabilitation Centre Foundation, the Orchestre Metropolitain du Grand Montréal as well as that of the Société du Palais des congrès de Montréal.
