On March 11, 2008 the Shaar Hashomayim Congregation welcomed guest speaker, Dr. Vassilios Papadopoulos, Director of the Research Institute of the MUHC, for a New Faces, New Ideas lecture.
On March 25 at the Shaar Hashomayim Synagogue, Dr. Miguel Burnier, the MUHC's Ophthalmologist-in-Chief , spoke about his fascinating adventures in this rapidly evolving field.
On March 27 at the Côte St. Luc Public Library, Dr Tarek Razek, Chief of Trauma, spoke about trauma care at the MUHC.
On April 6, 2008, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government presented a unique Chinese music concert at Le monument national to promote the cultural exchange between Canada and Hong Kong and raise funds for the MUHC.
On April 8, 2008 the Kirkland Library hosted Dr. Michael Tanzer, an orthopedic surgeon who is performing groundbreaking minimally invasive procedures in patients of all ages who require joint replacements.
