Friendship Across the Ocean

On April 6, 2008, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, through its official representative in Canada - the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office - presented a unique Chinese music concert at Le monument national to promote the cultural exchange between Canada and Hong Kong, as well as to raise funds for the McGill University Health Centre.

With the theme as “Friendship Across the Ocean”, the event featured an orchestra that came together just for this special occasion. It presented some of the best professional musicians from the Toronto Chinese Orchestra and the Overseas Chinese Music Ensemble, as well as three renowned soloists playing traditional Chinese instruments; a truly unique musical treat for our audience.

This exciting event was an opportunity that no one who loves Chinese music could miss. What’s more, all proceeds from the concert were generously donated to the Women’s Health Mission of the McGill University Health Centre.
