Campaign benefits from recent tax changes
Since the federal and provincial governments announced the elimination of the capital gains tax on gifts of publicly traded securities, the MUHC Foundation has received a number of generous planned gifts from both new donors and longtime supporters wishing to take advantage of the changes to increase their contribution to the MUHC. These gifts, which include donations of shares but also charitable gift annuities, bequests and gifts of life insurance, total almost $1 million, and have helped the Best Care for Life campaign reach its current total of almost $150 million.

Family Campaign brings MUHC employees together
With the completion of a second successful MUHC Employee Lottery and the inaugural Best Care for Life Employee Auction, staffers from all five sites of the MUHC are looking forward to more opportunities to show their support for the Best Care for Life campaign. A Comedy Night, a Run for Health and a third lottery are among the events planned for the new year. As with their predecessors, these activities will give MUHC employees the chance to raise the campaign’s profile among colleagues, patients and visitors, demonstrate their commitment to the redevelopment project and, last but not least, raise much-needed funds to support the revitalization of the institution they call home.

The 2007 Montreal International Auto Show Charity Preview
On January 18, 2007 at the Palais des Congrès de Montréal, for the second consecutive year, the MUHC is proud to be one of the beneficiaries of the Montreal International Auto Show Charity Preview Evening. This unique and elegant event will give you the chance to see valuable vintage cars, new vehicles and experimental prototypes while enjoying live jazz, an open bar and a delectable buffet. You will avoid the crowds while helping support the MUHC Foundation and the Best Care for Life campaign.
