Research equipment
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre is set to build the cutting-edge Centres for Innovative Medicine and Translational Biology at the Glen Campus. As the recent Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) grant confirmed, these new Centres will be among the most advanced research facilities in North America, allowing the country’s best scientists to undertake pioneering work that will lead to important new discoveries, drug therapies and treatments.
With the goal of bringing clinical research from the laboratory directly to the patient, the Research Institute will feature a fully dedicated clinical research unit that will be physically and functionally central to the Glen Campus. There, state-of-the-art equipment at the Centres of Innovative Medicine and Translational Biology will be arranged to optimize interactions between the committed men and women whose work forms the foundation of the McGill University Health Centre.
While $200 million has been pledged by the federal and provincial governments through the CFI grant, $50 million is coming from donations from the private and public sectors through the Best Care for Life campaign. This money will help fund cutting-edge equipment to change the future of medicine. If you would like to make a donation towards the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre, please call 514-931-5656 or visit our online donations page.
