1929 – 2006

Robert Usher On May 25, 2006, the MUHC lost one of its most beloved physicians when Dr. Robert H. Usher died of cancer at the age of 76. Usher’s innovative work in neonatal medicine and the treatment of respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) set new international standards.

CALM system

CALMThe Computer Assisted Labor Monitoring system is an important new tool that the MUHC's obstetricians and obstetrical nurses hope to acquire so they can more safely and accurately assess and treat women in labour.

Project and Campaign Making Healthy Progress

The MUHC continues to make progress in identifying the professional firms that will undertake construction at the Glen campus and renovations at the Mountain campus; the Best Care for Life campaign also gained ground over the summer months.

Planned Giving seminars roll on

The financial experts of the MUHC Foundation’s Planned Giving Committee have been touring the city explaining the advantages of this increasingly popular mode of philanthropy to laypeople and financial professionals alike.
