Hon. James A. Grant, P.C., C.M., Q.C.
Jim Grant was born in Montreal in 1937. He attended McGill University where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 1958 and a Bachelor of Civil Law in 1961. He was admitted to the Bar of Quebec in 1962. He is a partner of Stikeman Elliott in Montreal. His legal practice has encompassed corporate and commercial work, mergers and acquisitions and securities law.
Mr. Grant is the former director of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, and has also been directly involved in CAE Industries Ltd., Shire Pharmaceuticals Group, Youth Horizons, Batshaw Family Centres, and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra.
Mr. Grant is a director of various companies, associations and governmental, social and charitable organizations. He brought his expertise in banking law to the MUHC Foundation’s Executive Committee and served as co-chair of the Campaign Preparatory Task Force.
