For what reason is this concert being held in Toronto ? Was Kate not a Montrealer ? I had the great pleasure of seeing the McGarrigle sisters open before an Emmylou Harris concert at Montreal's Saint Denis Theatre a couple of months before Kate died and would have wanted to attend this concert. But in this economy I cannot afford to travel.

A Kate McGarrigle tribute was held in Montreal, her hometown in December 2011, at the St-Denis Theatre.  Kate was a renowned singer-songwriter, and her music touched so many fans, both locally, nationally, and internationally.  Tribute concerts have spanned North America and the United Kingdom, as part of an international effort to raise funds for research in sarcoma, the form of cancer that Kate fought so courageously.
