Maryse Bertrand, Ad. E.

Maryse Bertrand was born in Montreal. She is a senior partner and member of the management committee with the firm Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg where she has been since graduating with honours from the McGill University Faculty of Law in 1980. She has written and lectured on corporate finance and securities law for various organizations, including the Faculties of Law of McGill and Queen’s University and the Toronto Stock Exchange.
Ms. Bertrand is a director of the Cinemania Film Festival and a member of the McGill University Law Faculty Advisory Board and, in 2000, was named "Femme à l’Honneur" by the Montreal Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Bertrand is a sessional lecturer on securities regulation with McGill University's Law Faculty and has been ranked one of Canada's top 30 corporate dealmakers in Lexpert magazine, as well as being included among Chambers Global's World's Leading Lawyers 2003. Her experience in fundraising includes volunteer work for the RVH Reproductive Centre and the McGill Faculty of Law.
Ms. Bertrand’s involvement with the MUHC includes a two-year stint on the MUHC Foundation’s Campaign Preparatory Task Force, as well as membership on the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation’s Donor Recognition Committee and as Chair of the RVH Reproductive Centre Fundraising Committee. Alongside Pierrette Wong, she is co-president of the Women's Health Committee, an integral part of the Best Care for Life campaign of the MUHC.
