Dr. David Fleiszer

Dr. David Fleiszer is currently the Co-Leader of the McGill Educational Initiative on Interprofessional Collaboration: Partnerships for Patient and Family-Centered Practice, and Co-Chair of the Steering Committee. Dr. Fleiszer is an Associate Professor of Surgery at McGill University, Director of the McGill Molson Medical Informatics Project, Director of the Education Healthcare and Informatics Portfolio of the MIHC and former Director of the Cedar’s Breast Center in the MUHC. On May 30, he delivered a New Faces, New Ideas lecture at the Forest and Stream Club.

Dr. Fleiszer completed both his undergraduate and graduate medical education at McGill University and is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
His commitment to interprofessional approaches and to patient centered cancer care has been evident since the inception of his career and is demonstrated in the support of interprofessional activities in clinical units under his direction as well as his involvement in patient-led initiatives.

In 2005 he was the recipient of the John Reudy Award for Innovation in Teaching, awarded by Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada ,as well as the named to the Faculty Honour List for Educational Excellence within McGill University, Faculty of Medicine, in recognition of his contribution in both teaching and educational leadership and innovation in the field of medical informatics.
