The evening of Tuesday, April 8, 2008, the Kirkland Library hosted Dr. Michael Tanzer, orthopedic surgeon. Tanzer is one of a handful of North American orthopedic surgeons who is performing groundbreaking minimally invasive procedures in patients of all ages who require joint replacements. At this New Faces, New Ideas lecture, he walked audience members through the complex world of orthopedic surgery and its devices and show, among other things, the progress that has been achieved in terms of patient recovery time as a direct result of these new methods.

The 2007/2008 season of New Faces, New Ideas lectures is now underway, giving the invited guests, community, and corporate groups from across the city the chance to hear first-hand about the exciting work being done by the McGill University Heath Centre’s talented professionals. Now in its fourth successful year, New Faces, New Ideas features clinical and research leaders from across the MUHC explaining the innovative treatments and cutting edge procedures that are taking place in our own university health centre.
