Smokers and Non-Smokers Needed!
Researchers in the MUHC's Department of Medicine are conducting a study looking at the effect of smoking and exercise on arterial stiffness.
We are looking for smokers, non-smokers, and former-smokers who recently quit smoking, aged 18-45 years. The study involves a questionnaire, a treadmill exercise test (VO2max) and non-invasive measurements of arterial stiffness. The full assessment will take approximately 1.5 hours.
Smokers must come in for 3 assessments on 3 different days and non-smokers/former smokers for 1 day. Participants who are willing to be followed every 6 months for 2 years will be given preference. You will be compensated for your time. The principal investigator is Dr. Stella Daskalopoulou.
Interested participants should contact Robert at 514-934-1934 ext. 42170 or by e-mail at cigarette.smoking.study@gmail.com.
