Letter from the President

Warmer weather is finally here and an exciting winter has turned quickly into a jam-packed spring for the McGill University Health Centre Foundation! As you can see from the News and Events sections of our website, we’ve been busy as ever over the past few months and we’re gearing up for more.

To get a sense of what we’ve been up to, visit our Video Gallery, where you’ll see inspiring presentations from John Rae, Chair of the Best Care for Life campaign) and Dr. Arthur Porter (Director General of the MUHC), along with an informative presentation by St. Clair Armitage (PPP project director). These exciting videos will give you an excellent idea of where we’re coming from and where we’re headed.

The Best Care for Life campaign, a partnership of the foundations of the McGill University Health Centre, has also seen encouraging developments and has now raised an overall total of $160 million against its $300 million goal. This impressive achievement couldn’t have been possible without the generous contributions of many visionary donors, just one of whom—the Marjorie and Gerald Bronfman Foundation—you can read about inside the latest issue of Health Perspectives.

As you navigate through our website and read about our inspirational donors, watch informative videos, and learn more about some great events that promote the wonderful work going on right now at the McGill University Health Centre, I hope that you keep in mind the difference you can make by being part of the Best Care for Life campaign. By making a gift or giving your time, you are helping your community by supporting the groundbreaking patient care, teaching and research that goes on every day at the McGill University Health Centre and will continue for generations to come. As always, I’d be happy to speak to you about joining us by making a gift, giving your time or getting involved—feel free to send me an email.

Wishing you a warm and healthy spring,

Don Taddeo
