Derek Price, C.M.

Derek Price was born in 1932 and is a well-known figure in the Canadian philanthropy community. He is a former President of the Montreal Standard Publishing Co. and Publisher and President of the Montreal Star.

Mr. Price is currently President of the Temple Grove Foundation and is a past president of the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation. He is also Past Chairman of the Montreal General Hospital Foundation, a Director of Wainoco Oil Corporation, Trustee of the McCord Museum of Canadian History and a Director of the Multiple Sclerosis Scientific Research Foundation.

Mr. Price has also been active on the board level with the Centre d'Art Orford and Princeton University. He was instrumental in the re-establishment to promincence of the McCord Museum of Canadian History. He also participates in the advisory council of Mount Allison University, where he received an Honourary Doctorate in 2002.
