What is the cost of the MUHC’s redevelopment project and how will the funds be raised?

The MUHC’s redevelopment project has been budgeted at $1.57 billion. Recognizing the crucial role that the MUHC plays in providing specialized care and pushing the boundaries of knowledge through innovative research, the Quebec government has committed $800-million to the redevelopment of the McGill University Health Centre. Equal funds have been allocated to the CHUM, as part of the government's larger plan to revitalize academic health care across the province.

It is expected that the federal government will contribute $100-million towards the construction of a brand new Research Institute of the MUHC on the Glen Campus, as research is under federal jurisdiction.

The remaining funds will be secured by the MUHC's Best Care for Life campaign. This capital campaign will raise $200-million for the construction of new facilities on the Glen Campus and renovations to the Mountain Campus. The campaign will also raise $100-million to meet the critical needs identified in the MUHC's capital development plan.
