John A. Rae, C.M.

John Rae is presently Executive Vice-President, Office of the Chairman of the Executive Committee of Power Corporation of Canada, where he has worked as an executive since 1971. He has been actively involved with the Board of Directors of Queen's University and was a key player in their Capital Campaign.
Mr. Rae graduated with an Honours B.A. in Political Studies and Economics from Queen's University in 1967. That same year, he became Executive Assistant to the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, the Right Honourable Jean Chrétien. Since that time, Mr. Rae has been actively involved with the Liberal Party of Canada.
In addition to his position with the Power Corporation, Mr. Rae holds directorships of BNP-Paribas, and the Montreal Heart Institute Research Fund. Mr. Rae is Chairman of the Best Care for Life campaign and is a Member of the Order of Canada.
