Dr. Krista Goulding receives the 2013 Kate McGarrigle Fund Fellowship Award

In the fall, over 80 clinicians-researchers were recognized for their exceptional work at the annual McGill University Health Centre Research Institute Awards Dinner.  With grants ranging from $10,000 to $75,000, over $3 million was distributed throughout the evening, and one of the recipients was this year’s Kate McGarrigle Fund Fellowship Award winner, Dr. Krista Goulding.

On Wednesday, August 7, family, friends, and loyal supporters of Kate McGarrigle gathered to pay tribute to this legendary Canadian musical icon at the inauguration of Place Kate-McGarrigle. Located on Laurier Avenue between Querbes and Durocher Avenues in the borough of Outremont in Montreal, this small park is just steps away from Kate’s former residence.

Luminato Arts Festival raises $25,000 for The Kate McGarrigle Fund

The MUHC Foundation is proud to announce that the Kate McGarrigle Fund was the recipient of a $25,000 donation from the Luminato Arts Festival.  Born out of the cultural and creative energy of the city of Toronto, the Festival was officially launched in June of 2007, and this year’s edition took place from June 8-17.

The MUHC Foundation is pleased to announce that Dr. Cristiano Ferrario is the 2012 recipient of the Kate McGarrigle Fund Fellowship Award.  He will receive a $20,000 grant to pursue his training and research in identifying molecular biomarkers that can be used to target specific tumors in cancer patients.

Rufus Wainwright to give $1 from every ticket sold on his American tour

$1 from every ticket sold for this Summer's Rufus Wainwright American tour will go to the Kate McGarrigle Fund. As an inspirational tribute to the wonderful care that she received in her hometown of Montreal, Canada, Kate McGarrigle established the Kate McGarrigle Fund to supports cancer care and research at the McGill University Cancer Centre and the renowned teaching hospitals of McGill University in Montreal, including the McGill University Health Centre and the Jewish General Hospital.
