On Sunday, December 11, Montrealers were treated to an exceptional evening of entertainment as the 2011 edition of the A Not So Silent Night: Christmas with the Wainwrights and McGarrigles concert was held at the St-Denis Theatre.

Join these legendary music families for a benefit concert kicking-off the holiday season on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 8:00 pm at Théâtre St-Denis. Special guests Robert Charlebois, Monique Mercure, Chloé Saint-Marie, Michèle Mercure, Lucy Wainwright Roche, Jane McGarrigle, Chaim Tannebaum, Joel Zifkin, Brad Albetta, Michel Pépin, Thomas Bartlett, Doug Wieselman and David Berger.

On Wednesday, October 19, 2011, the 21^st edition of the Research Institute of the MUHC Awards was presented at the Sofitel Hotel. Over $2 million in research grants was awarded to 85 well-deserving investigators, including Dr. Philip Wong, this year’s winner of The Kate McGarrigle Fund Fellowship Award, which supports teaching and research in Oncology.

$1 from every ticket sold for this Summer's Rufus Wainwright American tour will go to the Kate McGarrigle Fund. As an inspirational tribute to the wonderful care that she received in her hometown of Montreal, Canada, Kate McGarrigle established the Kate McGarrigle Fund to supports cancer care and research at the McGill University Cancer Centre and the renowned teaching hospitals of McGill University in Montreal, including the McGill University Health Centre and the Jewish General Hospital. A special concert paying tribute to Kate McGarrigle's life and music will take place at the Southbank Center, London (United Kingdom) on Saturday June 12, 2010.  The concert will feature artists such as Lisa Hannigan, Emmylou Harris, Lily Lanken, Sylvan Lanken, Anna McGarrigle, Jenni Muldaur, Chaim Tannenbaum, Kami Thompson, Linda Thompson, Richard Thompson, Teddy Thompson, Martha Wainwright, Rufus Wainwright and others.  For seats and prices please check the SouthBank Centre’s website.
