Dr. Donatella Tampieri

Dr. Donatella Tampieri is currently the Director of Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology at the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital, a position she has held since 1999.

Her expertise is in interventional neuroradiology, which encompassses the treatment of brain aneurysms and arterio-venous malformations, the embolization of tumours and the recanalization of stroke. Another large component of her work involves the treatment of back and cervical spine pain, including nerve block, facets block and epidural injections, and vertebroplasty.

Dr. Tampieri’s teaching responsibilities include working as a professor of Radiology, Neurology and Neurosurgery at McGill University, where she offers several undergraduate and post-graduate level courses. She is also the director of the Fellowship program in Interventional Neuroradiology, which is a two-year program with two fellows.

Dr. Tampieri is the author of 124 published articles, 20 book chapters and has delivered more than 170 presentations both nationally and internationally. In addition to this, she serves as the co-editor in chief of the SNO journal and sits on the review boards of the Canadian Association of Radiologists and Rivista Di Neuroradiologia.
