Just days into 2020, researchers in Wuhan, China announced that a spike in pneumonia cases was, in fact, a new strain of coronavirus. Within weeks, cases of this new disease were being reported worldwide. Mere months later, on March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared the novel coronavirus outbreak, called COVID-19, a pandemic. Months after the WHO declared a pandemic, Canadians are still feeling the effects on a daily basis. More Canadians have been infected and much of the country has been shut down for months.
At the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), the McGill Interdisciplinary Initiative in Infection and Immunity (MI4) is leading the response to COVID-19. Since the pandemic began, we have raised over $4.6 M and have launched over 48 different research projects right here in Montreal.
During these unprecedented and challenging times, the MUHC Foundation is launching a new webinar series, with a focus on practical information from our MUHC experts to keep you and your families safe.
Join the top physicians and researchers from the MUHC as we explore the health care questions that matter to you and your loved ones. Register today and hear from the teams that are leading the fight against Covid-19.
