On October 12, 2017, over 200 guests attended the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) Foundation’s first-ever Enchantée cocktail dinatoire. Co-chaired by volunteers Cynthia Price Verreault, JoAnne Kelly Rudy, and Anna Capobianco-Skipworth, the event celebrated the six MUHC breast surgeons who care for women with breast cancer: Dr. David Fleiszer, Dr. Antoine Loutfi, Dr. Ari Meguerditchian, Dr. Robert Salasidis, Dr. Francine Tremblay and Dr. Sarkis Meterissian.
More than $120,000 was raised from this event, which will be directed towards the Breast Clinic of the MUHC’s Wellness Program. “The Breast Clinic cares for 15,000 women per year, and it is a referral centre for women across Quebec,” explains Dr. Sarkis Meterissian, Director of the MUHC Breast Clinic. “In addition to the exceptional care women receive, the Wellness Program provides prevention, treatment, psychological, and rehabilitation services, including highly-specialized lymphedema care.”
Emcees Leslie Roberts from CJAD and Brigitte Bédard from TVA/LCN entertained guests throughout the evening, and special guests included Caroline Ouellette, 4 time Olympic Gold Medallist, as well as other members of the Les Canadiennes hockey franchise. “The continued generosity of our donors and the dedication of our Co-Chairs made Enchantée a tremendous success,” states Julie Quenneville, President of the MUHC Foundation. “We cannot thank them enough for supporting the women and their families who continue in their fight against breast cancer,” she says.
