Houda Moussallier and her sister Mona sell knitted goods to raise money for the DOvEE project.

Since August 2007, I have been a survivor. I beat ovarian cancer over a period of three years after undergoing four surgeries and countless chemotherapy sessions. Through it all, I never lost hope, because I was determined to be there for the two men in my life, my husband and my son.

The professional and caring team at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) helped me overcome this disease. In particular, Dr. Lucy Gilbert and her team, who were with me every step of the way.

To give back, for seven years I have served a volunteer at the hospital visiting ovarian cancer patients, trying to give them hope of their own to continue to fight the disease.

Unfortunately, when one of them leaves us, after many months of suffering, because the treatment did not succeed in chasing cancer from her body, I feel devastated & powerless.

Recently I lost a friend and I am determined that, all this MUST CHANGE & YOU can help me.

How?

Simply by donating to the MUHC Founation’s DOvEE campaign so the DOvEEgene test, discovered by Dr. Gilbert & her team, will be sent to clinical trial.

What is DOvEEgene test?

It is a simple, affordable way to diagnose ovarian and endometrial cancers early, it promises to have as much of an impact on early diagnosis, treatment and recovery as the Pap test has had for cervical cancer and the mammogram has had for breast cancer.

The DOvEEgene test has the potential to SAVE women’s lives.

What is the MUHC Foundation’s DOvEE Campaign Target?

The MUHC Foundation has committed to raising $2M.

What is my target?

Dr. Lucy Gilbert, Director of the Gynecologic Oncology at the MUHC and a professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at McGill University.

For the past 2 years, my sister Mona & I have been selling knitted items to raise money for DOvEE. In that time, we have raised more than $24,000.

I challenge you, together can raise another $24,000 & why not more?

I am confident that together we can do it…

Why you?

Simply, because I believe that you will be touched by my cause, which has become since 2007 the cause of my life.

I am also sure that when this test becomes a routine test, like the Pap test or the mammogram, you will have the satisfaction that YOU have contributed to this great innovation.

Please, be generous and don’t hesitate to pass this solicitation to all the people you know as together we are stronger.
Thanking you in advance from the bottom of my heart for your generous donation .
