Today, in celebration of National Philanthropy Day, the Quebec chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals recognized the achievements of Montreal’s philanthropic community. Nine awards were handed out to our city’s most dedicated volunteers and generous donors, and this year’s recipient of the Outstanding Corporation, 250 or more employees award was RBC Royal Bank.
RBC’s philanthropic partnership with the MUHC dates back several years. To support the construction of one of the most state-of-the-art healthcare facilities in North America – the Glen site, RBC made a leadership donation of $2 million to the MUHC Foundation and a $2 million contribution to the new Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) as part of our Joint Corporate Campaign.
In addition to its countless other charitable endeavours, RBC is also the principal supporter of the MUHC’s Art and Heritage Centre, which has been named the RBC Art and Heritage Centre in recognition of its incredible generosity and leadership. The company continues to play an important role in preserving the rich culture and history of the MUHC while also transforming the hospital into a truly healing environment thanks to various exhibits. “RBC leads by example,” explains Julie Quenneville, President of the MUHC Foundation. “They are generous supporters of the MUHC and the community at large, and we are so proud to have nominated them for this important recognition,” she says.
Congratulations to RBC on this well-deserved award!
